We want to understand the time in which we live. We do not half understand it. We do not half take it in. FOREWORD

The final judgement day of all men is soon to come. People were warned by God since the foundation of the world about the various devices of satan to destroy God's loving people. He sent His prophet to bring this warning, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,...” Hosea 4:6
If the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy will not be given time to read, meditate and pray for it now ignorance and misunderstanding of some subject matters related to our salvation will darken the minds of the people. Consequently, many will not be ready to pass the test of the National Sunday Law or to receive the Latter Rain, and will not be prepared to give the final Loud Cry, but instead, will be lost forever.
Preparation cannot be made at the last moment, now is the time for us to develop a faithful closer relationship with God, by setting aside some of our time daily in personal devotion with God- reading the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy and let His character be reflected in us.
Therefore, I regard this author's compilation “The Gospel Standard” with its twenty vital subjects is of paramount importance for our earnest study and meditation to prepare us to meet our God.

The very alarming condition of our church today is idleness. Trapped by Satan's many devices- TV, sports, materialism, etc. Many if not most of our church members are so preoccupied to read God's Word and the Spirit of Prophecy books. Reaching out for Christ comes only a desire and no longer a personal involvement.
